Students at the Olive Branch

Homeless1Reaching out to our Community

This December, the Hamilton District Christian High Foods class prepared and served a delicious warm lunch of Shepherd’s pie for 100 guests and a variety of cakes for dessert.

During our time at the Olive Branch, students had the chance to visit with the guests, while serving a warm meal, dessert, and coffee and tea. It was an opportunity to share a time of fellowship together.

Following our lunch at the Olive Branch, the class stopped in at Cafe 541 on Barton Street to learn more about this outreach venture in Hamilton. Students bought buttons to pay-forward a meal for someone else in need.

From here, we traveled to the Fortinos on Upper James in order to learn more grocery store marketing by completing a marketing challenge within the aisles of this store. The afternoon was filled with sharing and learning together in Hamilton.
