Christmas Tree Art

Each year, we eagerly anticipate the annual Christmas Tree art installation.

This year’s Christmas installation was the combined effort of over 20 students. From the initial brainstorming session to the final touches, this project was student driven and teacher facilitated.

The students really wanted to create an interactive spiritual space for the school community to take part in advent prayer. They also wanted to focus on the importance of the incarnate Christ coming to live among all of the people of the world, as described in the first chapter of John’s gospel. In the end, we created a teepee or tabernacle structure with a sapling growing out of the stump of Jesse in the interior, cushions, and copies of Ignatius Loyola’s Advent Examen prayer.

Let’s focus on the joy and wonder of the moment and the hope of what is to come this Advent season!
