Hamilton District Christian High is a registered private school with the Ontario Ministry of Education. We believe that an exceptional education that cultivates the character of teenagers for lives of service to God is designed by the distinctive of being Christ‐centered, united in learning mission, relevant to teenagers, and healthy in the way that we interact with each other.
Cultivating character through learning for a life of service to God.
A Hamilton District Christian High education transforms lives with an essential Biblical identity, ethical restorative relationships, and exceptional learning.
The basis of Hamilton District Christian High is the triune God as revealed in the Bible. This infallible Word of God is interpreted from a Reformed biblical foundation where Jesus Christ is central to the Biblical story. In professing a Christ-centred foundation to education, HDCH asserts that the Triune God is the Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer of each student, staff member, parent/guardian, and the school community. In fact, all of life, including academics, is subject to His authority and is need of His transformational love.
For in Him, by Him and through Him are all things. (Colossians 1: 15-20). All of creation shouts of the magnificence of Jesus Christ. This is the core of the Reformed biblical foundation of HDCH.
- Christ-centred learning;
- unified learning mission;
- relevance to teenagers;
- healthy interpersonal relationships.
We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit and confess that our faith must find expression in all our thoughts and actions. We dedicate our work to the pursuit of character development through learning, recognizing that true transformation can be found only in Jesus Christ.
We regard every student as sacred before God, who calls every one of them to obey His Law, and out of concern for their development as citizens of His Kingdom we dedicate our efforts toward a wholesome growth of their God-given potential. It is important that we deal justly with all students and make professional judgments regarding their academic, physical, and emotional characteristics as required.
We acknowledge the God-given authority of the parents concerning students’ education. We consider it a privilege to teach the students according to a plan of learning for which the religious direction is determined and accepted mutually by the parents and by the staff. We promise to establish a relationship of mutual confidence with the parents and the students.
We believe that the Christian School is a cultural expression of the Christian community’s faith commitment and that it is our task as educators to make plain to students the relevance of God’s Word in life’s total experience.
We are committed to the growth and development of the Christian community and desire a harmonious and communal submission in all areas of life to the power of God’s Word. For this purpose, we shall seek guidance and justice in our relations with the students, the parents, the Board of the school and all others who support Christ-centred education.

Every Student is Unique
Exceptional learning is for every student. Each student has unique gifts, abilities, and learning styles. We work to differentiate learning so that each student can succeed. We provide support for academic planning and development, learning, and individualized programs where appropriate.
Our staff takes a vested interest in student learning, growth, and spiritual well-being. They develop a mentor relationship beginning in Grade 9 and foster these connections through to Grade 12, often going above and beyond to get to know each student as a unique person with diverse interests, strengths, and gifts.
We understand that ultimately God transforms the lives of our students at HDCH, and it is with this in mind that we trust in our mission to be clear and to be the directive of our school. We use the 5 habits of an HDCH graduate .
