Music Tour Chicago a Great Success
On May 25, seventy-nine students and seven chaperones boarded two coach buses en route to Chicago to take part in Hamilton District Christian High’s 2016 Music Tour Chicago.
Music Tours take place every other year with the goal of providing a variety of venues in which the concert band, choir, instrumental, and vocal ensembles can minister to young and old, to people in institutions and people in public places. Students are expected to perform suitable music that honours God’s demand for quality, excellence and praise in a fun, safe and spiritually-rich setting.
Music Tour Chicago involved five concerts over four days, including a flash mob performance at Millennium Park.

Students also had the opportunity to play and serve at different missions in Chicago. These experiences were a stretch for some students but were an intentional component of the Music Tour. Students helped prepare dinner at Roseland Christian Ministries and performed a free concert for guests. They also visited Elim Christian Services in Palos Heights, IL, Calvin Christian School in South Holland, IL, Humboldt Christian School, Chicago, IL, and Fulton Manor, Holland Home in Grand Rapids, MI.
The 2016 Music Tour Chicago was a big success. Thank you to everyone that prayed for us, helped us with fundraising and drove students to and from rehearsals. Your contributions facilitated an awesome experience for everyone involved.
