Character

Cultivating character

Students at HDCH receive an excellent, Christ-centred education where all students are engaged, growing in intellect, skills, and character, being connected to their God-given purpose.

By character, we mean Christ-likeness, the image of God in us restored, which is God’s ultimate purpose for every one of us: “to be conformed to the image of his Son” (Romans 8:29).

We consider character more important than grades as a predictor of success in life, by which we mean a purposeful, fulfilling life walking with God.

LEARNING

Through learning…

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mk 16:15)

We believe the most meaningful life is about knowing, following, and serving our Lord wherever He plants us and with whatever gifts He has given us. We believe those lives of service begin through the work, projects, and connections our students make in their classes. We use a project/inquiry-based approach that takes learning deeper by connecting it to the world beyond the walls of the classroom.

STUDENT LIFE

Lives of service to God

“Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Col 3:17).

At HDCH, we seek to worship God in everything we do, not only in our classes, but also in how we play volleyball or run cross-country, act in the play or play in the band, serve in local and foreign missions or welcome newcomers, or simply how we interact with each other in the hallways. A life of service to God starts here, starts now.
