Course Options and Selection

Kids in Home Economics Class

Course Options Overview

Ensuring a thoughtful and effective course selection process is crucial for students at HDCH. Parents and guardians play a pivotal role in guiding students toward their future goals, considering graduation requirements, and identifying individual strengths and passions.

Current students have access to an online course selection platform through MyBluePrint, with detailed information available on our Student Services Edsby group.

Reading our Course Calendar provides a comprehensive overview of course selection information.

For incoming grade nine students, the course selection process begins with a form emailed to them. In case of non-receipt, contact the office.

Course Selection Tips

Reflect on your aspirations and talents, exploring vocational pathways aligned with your unique identity. Engage in discussions with parents, friends, and teachers to refine your long-term vision.

Investigate secondary and post-secondary pathways related to your goals using resources such as ontariouniversitiesinfo.ca, ontariocolleges.ca, and findyourchristiancollege.com. For apprenticeship programs, visit skilledtradesontario.ca or ontariocolleges.ca.

Ensure your plan incorporates all courses necessary for both Hamilton District Christian High and Ontario Secondary School Diplomas. A comprehensive list is available in the HDCH Course Calendar.

Verify that you meet all prerequisites for your preferred courses by referring to the Course Calendar and reviewing your academic history on myblueprint.ca.

Develop a draft plan encompassing required courses, prerequisites, co-op opportunities, and areas of interest. Refine your plan by considering balance and workload, then proceed with course selection on myblueprint.ca.
